WorkLore ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. WHAT DATA WE COLLECT
Work email address
We collect your work email to verify your employment and enable sign-in. Your email is stored in our authentication system and is never connected to your review content in any database table visible to other users or third parties.
Company domain
We extract and store the domain portion of your email (e.g. "nike.com") to associate your account with a company. This domain is used to verify employment and is not personally identifiable.
Review content
When you submit a review, we store your ratings, written insights, compensation selections, and wish list responses. This content is stored without any direct link to your email address. Reviews are attributed only at the level you chose during submission (department, role, or role + seniority level).
Usage data
We collect standard anonymized analytics including pages visited, time on site, and general location (country/region level). We do not use advertising trackers.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
Your email is used solely to:
- Verify you are a genuine employee
- Send your one-time verification code
- Enable you to sign back in
Your review content is used to:
- Display insights to verified users who have submitted their own review
- Generate AI-powered summaries of patterns across multiple reviews
- Calculate aggregate scores at company, department, and role level
We never sell your data to third parties. We never use your data for advertising. We never share individual review content with the companies being reviewed.
3. AI PROCESSING
WorkLore uses Gemini (by Google DeepMind) to generate summaries of review patterns. Review content is sent to Google's Gemini API for this purpose. Google's privacy policy applies to this processing. We do not send your email address or any personally identifiable information to AI services.
4. DATA STORAGE
Your data is stored on Lovable Cloud infrastructure, which is built on Supabase (PostgreSQL). Data is stored in the United States. We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own account data.
5. DATA RETENTION
Account data is retained while your account is active. Review content is retained indefinitely to maintain the integrity of the platform's historical data. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your location you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Data portability

7. COOKIES
WorkLore uses essential cookies only for authentication session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. CHILDREN
WorkLore is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the effective date above.
